The People to Jobs Regional Transportation Task Force, a project of The WorkPlace, Inc., in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Social Services, Connecticut Department of Transportation, and the Federal Transit Administration, has developed a web-based employment trip planning tool and a pocket guide to employment transportation resources in Southwestern Connecticut available at www.peopletojobs.org.
“How Do I Get There?” is an on-line trip planning tool designed to provide customized answers to questions on employment travel. Users input travel information, including starting/ending locations and days/hours travel is needed. Within 24 hours, Monday-Friday, a ConnDOT Commuter Services representative will respond with travel options.
“Getting There” is a pocket guide to employment transportation resources that provides information on how to plan a trip to employment, job interview, child care, and training
using public transportation. This guide, which can be downloaded and printed, features an easy-to-understand color-coded map of transit services in and beyond the Southwestern Connecticut region. It also contains important telephone numbers for those seeking transit and ridesharing assistance. Travel planning assistance is also
