MICKEY'S MAIL - 11.16.16

Dear Members,

Two weeks in, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the incredible beehive of activity that is swirling about me. Actually, the BRBC Board of Directors hired me on October 19, although my official start date was November 1. So, in fact, I have been at this for nearly a month now!

The meetings I've attended are too numerous to recount here, so instead, I want to share with you some of my impressions. I have already overused the word "jewel" since I have discovered or re-discovered so many fine organizations these past four weeks.

MICKEY'S MAIL - 11.9.16

Dear Members,

OK, some of you may remember that when I owned the Bridgeport Bluefish, I wrote a weekly blog to all our fans about what was happening at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard and also about all things baseball in general.

When I sold the team in December of 2005, I wrote on the blog that Mickey's Mail was adjourning "sine die", which means "without fixing a day for future action". So today, nearly 11 years later, I want you to know that Mickey's Mail is back with a new mission: to keep our entire BRBC family as informed as I can about what is happening at the BRBC, as well as anything else that I think may interest you, our member companies.

Dear Members,

You'll find in this, my last Timpanelli Topics for the BRBC, the latest digital update to our Quarterly Review of Economic Development, The QR.  This is Volume 10 and it is a fine example of the positive and exciting economic development story of the Bridgeport Region.

A story that I have devoted a good portion of my life to.

After 28 years as Chief Executive Officer of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, I am now ready to embark on yet another new path - the next stage of what has so far been extremely satisfying career path. I have been exceptionally fortunate since graduating from Sacred Heart University in 1969 to be able to enjoy the five different rewarding paths that I have chosen - first as a middle school teacher, then as Town Clerk and First Selectman of the Town of Trumbull, a partner in a real estate appraisal company, and since 1988, as the President & CEO of the BRBC.
