Leadership Greater Bridgeport

Civic Readiness. Regional Impact.

Our Mission

Leadership Greater Bridgeport prepares professionals to lead with vision in their careers, their organizations, and their communities. The program builds civic readiness through direct exposure to the people, systems, and decisions shaping our region.

What We Do

LGB is a nine-month immersive cohort experience. Participants meet monthly across the region for program days focused on the issues that drive our economy.

Program days cover:

  • Arts and tourism
  • Government and civic life
  • Infrastructure and environment
  • Healthcare and human services
  • Education and workforce development
  • Public safety and criminal justice

Each program day pairs participants with regional leaders, elected officials, and decision makers. Participants leave the program with a working knowledge of how Greater Bridgeport operates and the relationships they need to act on what they learn.

The Region We Cover

LGB serves the five towns of Greater Bridgeport: Bridgeport, Stratford, Trumbull, Easton, and Monroe. Participants experience the full region, not a single corner of it.

Our Alumni

LGB has graduated 36 cohorts. Alumni hold leadership roles across business, government, education, and the nonprofit sector throughout Fairfield County. Current participants enter a network already in place.

Thrive

College to Career. Connecticut to Connecticut.

Our Mission

Thrive is the LDN's college and university initiative. It builds a workforce pipeline between BRBC member organizations and the next generation of professionals while giving students real preparation for life after graduation.

What We Do

Thrive partners with colleges and universities to deliver career readiness through the chamber. Programming connects students directly to the businesses and professionals shaping the region.

Programming includes:

  • Internship placement with BRBC member organizations
  • Interview and career preparation through chamber programming
  • Mentorship pairing students with young professionals already working in the region
  • Pathways into BRBC young professional membership after graduation

Why It Matters

Students get real experience with regional employers. Member businesses get early access to vetted talent. Greater Bridgeport keeps the young professionals it educates. That is workforce development that works for everyone.
